April 9, 2011 – One of my college friends had contacted me regarding shooting a wedding for one of her friends. A couple of months later, I received an email from Cynthia asking if I was available on her wedding day! What an honor it was to be asked to photograph her special day. After going back and forth with emails, we chose the date and locations for this fantastic shoot. Cynthia had requested she wasn’t looking for a normal engagement shoot but rather she wanted a bridal shoot before the wedding. How awesome is that! She also warned me that Jeff and herself weren’t that comfortable in front of a camera but I assured her that by the end of the day, both Jeff and herself will be posing like models.
The weather man had forecasted light showers with some thunderstorms but like usual, the weather man was wrong! The beauty of living in Southern California is that even when they say it’s going to rain, we get this beautiful weather of sunny skies and mild temperature. We started the shoot off at the Hollywood Magic Castle in Hollywood. An exclusive venue where you can only attend by invitation only. We did not see a magic show but we did meet some magicians on the way. We then headed to Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Korea Town. This is the church in which Jeff and Cynthia will be getting married later in September. To end the day, we headed towards the Disney Concert Hall in downtown LA to take advantage of the beautiful architecture it presents.
By the end of the day, Jeff and Cynthia had no problems being in front of the camera. It was a fun filled day filled with love and laughter. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in September. Congratulations Cynthia and Jeff!
