Anjali & Mohsin’s Day 4 | Wedding | Irvine Marriott Hotel, Ca

Sept 4, 2011 – This was the 4th and final day of Anjali and Mo’s Wedding celebration. The 4th day was dedicated to a grand reception with family and friends. The day started off with Anjali and Mo getting ready and heading over to Sergestrom Center of the Arts in Costa Mesa to take some quick portraits. Afterwards we headed back to the Irvine Marriott hotel to celebrate the night away. The banquet room was transformed into an incredible wedding reception venue. With pink uplighting, a desert bar, and a huge dance floor, the room was set for a night to remember. It was an incredible night that included emotional toasts and dance performances by friends and family. One thing I learned out of participating in an Indian wedding, is that Indian people definitely know how to have a good time! Thank you so much Anjali & Mo for allowing me to experience such an incredible 4 days of celebration.

Anjali & Mohsin Day 2 | Wedding | Soka University, Aliso Viejo

Sept 2011 – A couple of weeks ago, I had the great opportunity to experience the wonders of an Indian Wedding. I had the wonderful privilege to work along with Henry Chen and Brian Fletcher to document Anjali & Mohsin’s wedding ceremonies. For those that aren’t familiar with Indian Weddings, they are usually spread apart through multiple days, each day celebrating a traditional ceremony and capped with a grand reception.

The day I had covered was the 2nd of the 4 day celebration. On this day, Anjali was celebrating her Pithi tradition and later that day, we ended up at Soka University for the Mehndi ceremony. Both were a first for me but hopefully not the last. Both ceremonies were so rich in tradition and celebration, it was certainly an experience I will always remember. Everyone was so nice and comforting, I wouldn’t have mind photographing all day long. The day was full of celebration that included traditional Indian ceremonies, dance performances, great food and a lot of dancing.

Cynthia & Jeff | Wedding | Immanuel Presbyterian Church, Sheraton Hotel | Los Angeles, Ca

09/03/11 – What a blessing it was to be part of Cynthia & Jeff’s wedding. It was one of those days where I felt I was more like a friend than a vendor. If you have ever met Cynthia and Jeff, you would know how they are two of the sweetest and kindest people out there. Amongst the distractions, the stress, and the never ending phone calls, they worked through the day to have a beautiful wedding.

My day started out at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown LA, where both Cynthia and Jeff were busy getting ready to walk down the aisle. We then shifted to Immanuel Presbyterian Church for a very intimate, touching, ceremony that involved both Jeff and Cynthia reading their vows to each other.  After the ceremony, we headed back to Sheraton Hotel where family and friends were greeted by an amazing dinner and entertainment all through out the night. The dancing at this wedding was seriously a one of a kind. There were points during the dance offs, I could not take photos as I was laughing so hard from the awesome dance moves that were being performed.

I can not thank Cynthia and Jeff enough for allowing me to be part of their very special day. I wish you both the best of luck in the future!

Joyce & Sean | Engagement Portraits | Old Town Pasadena, Pasadena City Hall

September 14, 2011 – The other week, I received an email from a good friend of mine, whom I haven’t spoke to in a couple of years asking if I was available to shoot a quick engagement session for her good friend Joyce. I am always available to help out a friend and I was super excited to meet both Joyce and Sean. Joyce had expressed to me over the phone on how herself and Sean weren’t really the type to take photos but as you can see, they are both really good looking.

I met up Joyce and Sean at Old Town Pasadena over a busy Labor Day weekend.  I had learned that Joyce and Sean were living out in Chicago and had just recently moved out to Southern California. When asked about why they moved, they both said, they were sick of the cold. I can’t imagine living in -10 degree weather as they did in Chicago over the winter. They brought along their dog, Haze, who was one of the chillest dogs ever.  She was super calm and even posed for a camera a couple of times. I had a great time with Joyce, Sean, and Haze and I wish them the best of luck in the future!

Here are some photos from their engagement session. Enjoy!
